In the realm of propulsion system testing, data acquisition systems (DAS) have long been shackled by monolithic architectures and legacy design thinking. These traditional systems, while highly functional, have posed significant challenges in terms of flexibility, scalability, and adaptability. The need for new drivers to accommodate emerging instruments and the specter of vendor lock-in have stifled innovation and hindered progress.
In this presentation, we explore the paradigm shift promised by the iDDS protocol – a bold new approach that promises to change the landscape of DAS, ushering in a new era of efficiency, modularity, and network-based data acquisition that can deliver flexibility and scalability. Looking ahead, iDDS is poised to become the standard communications protocol in propulsion systems testing, with potential for greater integration with IoT and AI, signaling a future of exciting and innovative software solutions for testing.
